Flooring

Need to double check that I’m still alive! I’m that exhausted.

We left home at 7:30am and headed for Deep Run where we went to the water office to drop off the form and pay to have the water meter put in for the new house.

Ran by the new house to drop off the “blue flag” for our contractor to place it where he wants the meter put.

Headed to Winterville, where we met with Rachel and picked out the cabinets for the kitchen and all the bathrooms. Also had to pick out the hardware for all the cabinets.

Then it was deciding things like did I want a cutlery divider in a drawer? Which one? A knife block in a drawer? Again, which one? Did I want spice risers in a drawer? Which one?

Did I want roll out bins in any of the cupboards? One side or both sides? Just lower or upper too?

From there we went to Greenville to see Leslie about our flooring. That was amazing. In their showroom they had an island that was made using the cabinets we had chosen and in the colour we had chosen! That made it great putting the samples down right beside it to get to see how they would look together. We were able to agree on our flooring after only looking at three floor samples!! Awesome.

We decided to then go to the Lowe’s Home Improvement in Greenville and get ourselves some ideas in lighting etc. We looked at lights, ceiling fans, washers & dryers, fridges & freezers and I tried to show Kent the faucets I had picket out.

We drove to Kinston and returned the brick sample we have had for a couple of months now and then decided to check out the Lowe’s in Kinston too. Talked to a guy, Tom, there who was very honest about some questions we asked concerning washer/dryers and fridge/freezers. He gave us a couple more ideas to think about.

By then it was time to head to the Golden Chinese Buffet where we met 12 other members of the family for dinner. There seemed to be plenty to discuss and I think everyone eat far too much!

9:30pm when we finally got home and it’s most certainly time to just crash!
