The Lang Scots Mile

A trip to Ayrshire today (well, North & South for meetings & through East on an interesting route back). 200+ miles - less than 1 being a wrong turn up a dirt track & back (I blame bad Google map satnav directions). Took many shots today, those of the Barony Centre didn't do it justice (will try again next time) and I turned round & walked back to get this shot, on the beachfront at Ayr. I liked the story behind it too.

Visited the fabulous Barony Centre in West Kilbride - Craft Town Scotland and winner of one of the first Creative Place Awards in 2012. A lovely & productive meeting in the Centre with coffee & cake (there's a cafe....) and a quick look round the craft shop (there's a craft shop....). One of the jewellery makers was in the shop at the time and it turned out to be pieces made by her daughter, and herself, which had caught my eye.

Then to Ayr for a meeting of the South Ayrshire Arts Partnership - inspirational people and exciting projects all coming together to be even better. Attempted to avoid rush hour standstill West of Scotland traffic on the way home by taking the A71, only to hit standstill Edinburgh traffic. Knackered.
