Lavender Farm
(19/7/25)
We enjoyed a relaxed morning getting ready to head for the outskirts of London. Eileen invited us to a school concert, which was highly recommended by friends. We took the opportunity to visit Castle Farm Lavender Farm before we got to the Bromley area.
I had been here once before, but it was G's first time. She loved it. Not just the fields, but the farm shop completely blew her away. So much so, she'd like to visit again when we have more time. Before we got there, we pulled into Clacket Lane services. I mention this because of the very different vehicles we observed while we ate our packed lunch. The TWAM van caught our attention. This country thinks of everything, even what you can do to give life to old tools!
We were treated to another delicious lunch by Eileen, except this time, the wasps wanted to join in as well! The school concert showcased the talent of the performing arts department of the school. There was no shortage of students or variety in the programme. We heard everything from La La Land to Moulin Rouge!
This time, we stayed over and got to watch the Lionesses progress to the semi-final round, beating Sweden on penalties. To say it was nail-biting would be an understatement. We could barely watch!
A long, hot and tiring, but GOOD day! :)))
