Meeting number two of four planned for Wednesday. It was beginning to dawn on me that I might have bitten off more than I could chew, and I cancelled the last meeting and Thursday's.

This is in a shop we have just refurbed. I like the design of these, it's an eclectic mix of old and new, and the food is allowed to be centre stage.

We had to do it in two weeks, which would have been a challenge anyway but when one large element of the original shop was taken out what was exposed was not what had been anticipated at all. Major re-think, which meant that the first week was pretty much wasted and two weeks work had to be shoe-horned into one.

In a small shop like this, it's not as easy as having twice as many guys on site - if you do that it all grinds to a halt because they're climbing over each other. as it was there were somtimes eight or nine people working in a space like a biggish front room, with all their tools, stepladders and the kit they were trying to install in there too. Sam does well to stay calm, keep cheerful, and co-ordinate it all
