New notebook

Today has been interesting. My first for a long time where I have been on my own all day, because Jon is working all day. I have been extremely busy though, so it hasn’t been lonely. But has made me think a bit more about what it will be like to be not working. I am definitely going to need some structure to my days next year.

Anyway, back to today. I had a lot of sorting out to do because our house has suddenly become a bit of a dumping ground with the kids all moving this year.

Yesterday we acquired some furniture from Mollie who has moved out of her tiny flat in Cromer. It was my choice to take bits back although some stuff went to charity. I plan to do a car boot sale soon so hopefully we can make a bit of cash from some of her things.

The biggest thing to come back was her bed. Handy for us because it can go into Henry’s old room to become a guest room. It’s only 4ft so a small double but ok for a couple for a night or two, and very nice for one person. So the challenge was on for me to get it all upstairs and rebuild the frame first, then to get the mattress upstairs. I managed it all, and felt a huge sense of achievement. It means Jon doesn’t have to do it when he gets home. Everything is going to ache though, so the water is on for a bath later!

A big pile of ironing done, the bed sorted I was then able to give everywhere a good clean and it already feels better. But where has my day gone!!? Swallowed up with sorting out. So I am having a sit down before Jon get’s back. I have a new notebook, and pen. One of my favourite things is a new notebook. I don’t really ‘journal’ but I do make lists, and plans, then more lists and more plans. I bought this one a while ago without knowing what I was going to use it for. But now I’ve decided it is going to be for my retirement projects! Never too early to start planning…

I really love a new notebook. Now to start on those lists :-)
