Geroldsau Waterfall
On the last morning of our Black Forest weekend, Isa and I walked to the Geroldsau Waterfall. It’s located in the romantic Grobbach valley, not far from the spa city of Baden-Baden. Apparently, the waterfall was a favourite place of the composer Johannes Brahms, who lived in Baden-Baden for a few years.
We started early, which was fortunate. Not only because the day quickly became hotter and more humid, and the valley began to feel like a sauna; but also because the walk turned out to be extremely popular. The huge car park where we started was almost empty when we arrived. Three hours later, it was so packed that people were sitting in their cars queueing for the next free space.
So we made some French tourists happy, who got our parking place, while we drove home.
