Leptura quadrifasciata

A enhanced version of a four banded long horn beetle found on meadow sweet this evening, it was strange to see it chomping its way through the flower head, those long legs? making steady headway, the mouth working all the time. 


An early start for no reason although we planned to feed seven of us at 2.00, sadly the star of the lunch isn’t well.   He recently celebrated his 90th birthday, at the time we couldn’t make the party hence lunch today. Another time. Now all is done and dusted and time to relax.
