Katy and her cocktail
I had a better night’s sleep, being awake only twice, yet I was tired in the morning.
We had a bit of cleaning up to do, especially in the conservatory which had become a hover fly graveyard. I don’t know where they are coming from.
Carol, Phil, Katy and Colin came for a meal tonight.
It was too hot to slave over a hot hob for long. We had a cold platter starter - melon, Italian meats, olives, jar of artichokes and some manchego. Main - my take on the Umbrian white lasagne we had there - sausages, griddled courgettes, onions, oregano and bechamel sauce in layers. I made another one with mushrooms and courgettes for me - and Nathaniel can have it too tomorrow. I’ve also made a raw white cabbage salad with kidney beans, medjoul dates and walnuts dressed with yogurt, tahini, lemon juice and olive oil and there’s also a green salad. Pudding is stewed apples from the freezer and rasps with yogurt and granola on top.
It was good to see everyone and we had a good laugh but I’m tired now.
I made up a cocktail which was a bit of limoncello, a bit of Grand Marnier topped up with cava and some rasps. It’s tasty.
