A thank you

I received this from head office of the charity Maggy and I volunteer for last week.  I have been a Delta Pet Therapy volunteer for 18 years.  Can you believe it, those 18 years have flown.   Five dogs over that period, my beautiful Sammy boy, (the best of all and a natural - don't tell Maggy), Hannah, Hamish, Poppy and now Maggy.  It is made of wood by one of our volunteers and represents the 'delta' triangle of the human/dog bond.  It's been such a privilege to be able to share my dogs over the years and sometimes help people.  Thanks for hosting JackZero.

Today, Maggy and I went to the number 2 Aged Care facility (the one that is like a school camp) and learned that our beautiful Sid had passed away.  Unexpected.  His wife Betty is still there and I gave her a hug today and we sat and chatted about Sid and how much dogs loved him.  I blipped Sid before here.  This is the sad thing about visiting Aged Care facilities, you have time to get to know these people and form relationships.  At the hospital, even though it's an orthopaedics ward we visit and there can be longer term patients, most are not there the next time we visit so the only people you are really getting to know well are the staff.  RIP Sid.

I am about to head to Sydney and will probably be off the air tomorrow.   I hope to catch up when the madness settles.
