Hampsfella

Not what I was looking for!

I got up early this morning and was in the Morecambe hide at Leighton Moss just after 6am.  My mission was to try to photograph the Lesser Yellowlegs which has been spotted recently amongst the Godwits.  I thought I had succeeded in capturing it however, looking very critically at my pictures with the Reserve Manager the bill was not quite right as it was slightly too thick at the base and showing a little colour.  We concluded that I had actually photographed a juvenile Redshank.  Never mind!  My consolation was that I did get to photograph this Green Sandpiper.
