Ship shape

We believe this is a ship’s table. It is narrow and the legs each have a cast iron “boot” which can be screwed down onto a deck.

Regretfully the top developed a large crack. This has now been filled and the whole sanded down.

We are quite happy to live with the visible repair.

The first coat of yacht varnish has been applied. It will be lightly sanded and another coat applied for a hard finish.

It lives in our conservatory which gets a lot of sun so a resilient finish is necessary.
