Mono Monday - ‘Wood’

I went up to St Luke’s this morning to show willing for the Fabric Team, though didn’t take any of my gardening tools as it was raining quite hard. It was too soggy to get anything much done outside. In the end I stayed for a cup of tea and a biscuit with everyone, and then went home again. Hopefully it might be dry next Monday so that we can make a start on painting the shed in the churchyard. I noticed that all the weeds are growing back which I had pulled up the last couple of times I helped out. It’s a never ending task keeping it looking nice out there, but I know it’s appreciated.

After lunch I went over to Perrywood’s garden centre with the idea of spending a £20 gift voucher I was given, but didn’t find anything to buy this time. I did get an African Violet plant (Streptocarpus, formerly Saintpaulia) in the traditional dark violet colour.

Whilst looking around Perrywood’s I came across a display of olive wood tableware, and thought these beautiful hand carved bowls arranged on a big oval plate would make a nice blip. Many thanks to JacZero for hosting the Mono Monday challenge for July, with this week’s theme of ‘Wood’.
