one day in France

Homeward Bound

We visited dad in the care home where he is doing really well. He’s putting on weight, interacts with all the staff, eats well, goes on outings, and thanks to the care he is now getting, has regained his dignity, and the sparkle in his eyes.
He is happily living in the present moment without a thought or care for anything else.
Then we dropped in on two sets of children and grandchildren before driving to the St Malo ferry. It’s such a relief to be leaving knowing that dad is being taken care of and is safe. Mum is still living in their house and can’t accept that dad needs more care than he has been receiving, but that’s a situation that isn’t going to be resolved right now.
