Seems fitting that the first photo on the new device should be one of the outgoing device. 

The only difficulty in the otherwise smooth transfer of stuff was the extraction of the sim card (It took guile, patience, and ingenuity. And finally a small metal file.) and the realisation my SD card isn't needed. I had a bit of a wail about this to a more techie minded friend who pointed me in the direction of an adapter I can use which will also mean I might get around to sorting the pictures on my other unneeded SD card...

The boiler has had its annual service. The lovely chap tells me it's doing well for its age. We commiserated with the local secondary school pupils and staff who are still to finish for the summer (pupils Wedesday, staff Thursday) but they get 2 weeks in October unlike the rest of the local schools. 

The trip to the supplier of screen protectors and phone cases will be tomorrow's joy. For today, the old case will do.
