Day 9

I feel clean!  Today the care assistant helped me to take a shower and wash my hair, for the first time since I've been here. I was able to walk from my bed all the way to the shower, using my little walker, and then walked back here. Of course, I was walking very slowly and with quite a bit of pain in my knee, but I got it done. Who knows what the future holds! 

I will be here in the hospital at least one more day, as although we found the right rehab, the social worker is still working on getting transportation for me from the rehab to dialysis and back. I can't yet get into a regular car, so I would need to be transported in some sort of cabulance.  But the cost to me of each of those rides would be $250, each way. so they're trying to find some agency or program that would do it for free.  this all means that I will be doing dialysis here in the hospital again tomorrow. 

Lex came to visit again and brought me some lightweight hand weights for me to do some exercise with so I don't feel completely a sloth.
