Head on
I know that head-on is not the conventional view for a butterfly, but it does make a for a good view of all the appendages. Lots of butterflies out in the hedgerows this morning (mostly meadow browns, commas and various whites), and generally staying in place long enough to be photographed. I only realised just how many there were when a tractor went past and a cloud of 20-30, mainly meadow browns, flew up out of the vegtation.
