Cheery
The jelly fish at the moment feel free to pick their time in the limelight and since they seemed to be centre stage at one point yesterday and stung several people, the Selkies have taken to wearing a variety of protective wear. Anything goes as long as it protects areas and legs from the jellies and their tentacles. The little blighters seemed to be otherwise engaged today at the 9am swim and there were no sightings and no one was molested.
I returned my book, Guilty by Definition to the library this morning. I can honestly say I have never read a book that has caused me to fall asleep so often whilst reading it. Not my cup of tea, obviously but looking forward to the opinions of the other book group ladies next week.
I had coffee with SelkieShona and she showed me the peedie cottage in their garden that they have transformed into a tiny but beautifully formed holiday house.
The walk home was hot, sunny and airless which I didn’t appreciate until the sun disappeared and the landscape retreated behind the mist once more.
Selkie Sally popped in for a chat in the afternoon and we watched the sea change from being lumpy as it was in the morning to being like a mirror by the time the Hamnavoe glided out on its trip to Scrabster.
There’s not a breath of wind to ripple surface of the water.
Tomorrow is the start of the Stromness Shopping Week, a gala week with a gala Queen and her attendants and fun and games until Saturday when there will be a huge fancy dress procession through the streets. Unfortunately I won’t see that, I’ll be reluctantly unpacking at home.
