Coffee break
After the car servicing and the signing-things visit to the lawyer, I stopped for a coffee in the gardens at St Andrew Square.
As I was sitting and sipping, a group of immaculately turned-out Italian students wandered by. One of the lads asked his mate a question that went something like this: <burst of fast Italian> "sorted?" The other shook his head and replied: <burst of fast Italian> "sorted out." Without more context, who knows which was correct?
Meanwhile, the woman sitting opposite me, having a phone conversation with earbuds in, bellowed "so how come you've had an endoscopy, then?" Again, impossible to know the answer.
Fortified, I continued to Santander to sort out a dormant bank account. Here I accidentally jumped the queue and got scowled at when I tried to apologise to the person I'd inconvenienced.
All go, it was.
