Bits and Bobs!

Nessa the Therapy Dog

At the RUH today, it was me, the visitor, rather than Dad, the patient, who was in need of puppy therapy, what a day!

After yesterday's change, consultant phoned me at 8am and asked me to go in to assess Dad for myself as to whether or not he was fit enough to be discharged. Roadworks and a bus that never turned up meant that the journey into Bath took twice as long as normal. Dad appeared to be doing much better so plans for discharge tomorrow were discussed and put in place, though I had to wait another four hours to receive the information myself. As this meant that I missed my return bus, I popped in to see my BC friend and to wait for the next bus. While there, the doctor phoned to say that Dad had had another seizure and had been quite unwell. He advised me that all was calm now and that I'd be better off continuing home to rest and take care of myself. People keep saying poor Dad but luckily he's completely unaware of everything that's happened over the last 33 days.

Once home I realised I'd left my phone at my friend's house! Anyhow, I've now spoken to the doctor, he knows to phone the landline if there are any changes and he updated me on Dad who is stable again but definitely won't be coming home tomorrow. So back I'll go tomorrow for Day 34 and I'll pick up my phone on the way. Am so tired I've abandoned all the chores I should be doing this evening and it'll be another early night...

Thank you for your kind stars for yesterday's little Ladybird.
