Flower farm, Cragside, dogs, mahjong and pudding
We’ve had a busy day. I made a Raspberry Bomb for pudding tonight then we went out. The children thought they’d like to go to the fruit farm to pick strawberries but en route I checked and found it won’t open till tomorrow. Instead we went to find the farm which has a wild flower field. It too was closed - it appears to be open at weekends when people can pay to pick a bunch. Nathaniel and Mr C declined to get out of the car while Ella and I had a wander to look at the flowers from the road.
After lunch we went to Cragside where they did the trim trail. They asked everyone they met who had a dog if they could pet it. After climbing their rock and doing the trim trail we just caught the ice cream cart before it closed.
Back home to keep them off devices we played some mahjong before the evening meal - Nathaniel asked for courgette fritters again which we had, then the raspberry bomb - they got no seconds as I’m keeping the other half for when the boys come.
They are going to watch the rest of the Greatest Showman, started last night, then it’s bed with their books as we have to get to Morpeth early tomorrow.
