Autumn?

Had to wait in for a delivery today so went for a walk in the forest at Brandon towards the end of the afternoon. It was warm and humid after the rain, with plenty of delicate scent from the conifers but the dryness over previous weeks has resulted in fewer flowers along the edges of the forest rides and consequently fewer insects, so not a lot to excite the camera. We did have a look at the heathland but the heather isn't quite out yet - and again, the area looked dry, almost autumnal, with fallen leaves and brown moss. The upside was that the reindeer lichen has been able to thrive!
