New Nails
I was going to make a composition of me holding yesterday's rose to show off my new nails. As soon as I touched the vase the petals all fell off!
Today I went and had a manicure for the very first time. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised that a manicure was done by a man!
Impressed by #1 Daughter's nails, I had to give BIAB a go - "Builder In A Bottle", a type of gel polish known for its strength and durability. I'll see how I get on with them but I think I'll go for a darker tone next time. These are a bit luminous!
I thought the experience would be a bit like going to a hairdressers, you know, cup of coffee, all the small talk about where you're going on your holidays, etc. Not a bit of it There were 4 of us clients present and hardly a word was spoked to any of us, unless it was absolutely necessary, like: "You're finished now!"
The 4 manicurists, particularly mine, talked the whole time to his colleagues in an Asian language - and kept going to answer the phone during my treatment! Not how I was taught to behave to customers.
I shouldn't rant, as I don't want this behaviour to spoil the joy for me of having spent money being pampered. Pamper: indulge with every attention, comfort, and kindness. Hmm, maybe I missed the pampering bit but I'm liking my nails looking tidy.
