The Boys are Back in Town

I’m always a few weeks behind on my blips so very poignant timing to put this one up after Ozzy Osbourne’s sad passing yesterday.
Ozzy’s crazy train hit Birmingham in the week building up to Black Sabbath’s final gig at Villa Park. I love it when the city is buzzing for an event and it truly was during this week with absolutely loads of Black Sabbath fans flying in from America and all around. They all seemed so friendly, happy, grateful and excited to be here, gathering in all the special areas of the city honouring the band like the Black Sabbath bridge and this brilliant new mural outside the station. Many were drawn into the Villa shop too, where I was headed, buying Ozzy’s Up The Villa T-Shirts, so hopefully we have a few new international fans!
Not a rocker myself but how wonderful that Ozzy was able to perform such a special gig with his band mates one last time, overcoming such health difficulties, raising millions for charity and enjoying happy time with his family too. Respect to you Ozzy, Brum loves you, Up the Villa!
