An Unusual Landscape

Not many people are aware of how extensive the area of china clay workings is on the edge of Dartmoor to the north-east of Plymouth. A good way to see them, is from the Dartmoor Way, a circular walk around the edges of the moor. This is a view today  of one of the huge spoil heaps from my walk between Cadover Bridge and Rook Tor, near Cornwood.
