I enjoyed today, especially as I took the time to chat to people without feeling stressed about getting back to work.

I rode Willow at lunchtime, dressage in the arena, at the end using only a neck rope. Despite one misunderstanding, he reacted so well that I could steer him around and change gears even from trot to stop without ever using the bit! I'm so proud of how far we've come. I chatted nicely at the yard. Cycling back home, I felt so happy. 

Then I walked Djeili, and a friendly tourist asked me a question. It turned into such a lovely conversation! I regretted walking on without exchanging contact details. But thanks to the power of social media, I found her immediately with just her first name, "yoga teacher" and "Vancouver"! I hope we keep in touch.

I carried on working until late afterwards. However, having been able to take my time and not stress absolutely made my day. I am too old to think that life often gets in the way of work, when it should be the other way around.
