Reflection

Rain forecast this morning delayed my walk with H until this afternoon, although the rain didn't materialise and I gone some more gardening done. It was nice and sunny this afternoon for a walk on Kelling Heath, so was much better. We walked in reverse order, firstly walking to Weybourne station for a cuppa and then going via the holiday village for a walk on the heath. It surprises me how different things look when you walk in the opposite direction to normal. The steam trains aren't running at the moment due to the drought and won't be running for their 50th celebration this weekend. It's a shame, but there's been another fire on the heath recently caused by a steam engine. I did wonder if they would run given the heavy rain on Monday, but the volunteer at the station said it's being kept under review as the rain wouldn't have gone far into the ground and the sun has already mostly dried it. There was one big puddle on the way back and a jay came down for a drink. It wasn't as timid as normal and was quite fluffy, so I wonder if it was a juvenile. I also took a photo of an unusual looking insect, which I later identified as a red banded sand wasp.
