One daze at a time...

Wo ist das Biergarten, bitte?

It's there, on the hill, you big dufus. And at the bottom of the hill and at the top of the mountain.
People here seem to quaff the local hopp juice with gay abandon. And very quaffable it is too. Thankfully the 0.0 version of the Tegernsee Hell is just as delicious as the alcoholic version, or so I'm told (I can't imagine the alcoholic version managing to taste better).
So today after much orienteering difficulty (turn your back to the lake, head straight on) we walked up through a mature forest to find a magical alpine meadow, which led to a no less magical alpine eatery (cash only folks - as tax inspectors obviously have a fear of heights). In fairness to them, the fact that they dodge on tax enables them to pass some of the savings to the customers. We had a very pleasant meal, with cold drinks, and a memorable hot apple strudel for less than €20 a head. In beautiful surroundings. Yes, please!!
Soon it was time to head back down to the lake, and the lake house, and perhaps a short siesta, under the not-so-benevolent supervision of the great-great-great-great-uncle the bishop, to make sure it didn't get out of hand.
Then a swim in the lake, followed by a light(ish) super under the watchful gaze a few more ancestors - Lutheran this time - to make sure that not too much enjoyment was derived from the wholesome food.
A good day.
I'll sleep well tonight.
