English Fox
Little Man and I went down to Eastbourne, with Debbie, to visit Little Man's great-grandmother. She is his only great-grandparent who is still alive (his other great-grandparents have all passed away over the last two and half years) and I really wanted to see her when I was planning our time in England. It also meant that Little Man would be able to see his dad's father, who now lives in Eastbourne¹. Little Man's Grandad Al and Grandma Ivy only stayed for about an hour or so, due to work obligations. It was probably a good thing that the visit was short and sweet because Little Man has only met his Granddad Al once before, as a two month old baby. It was also the first time he's met Grandma Ivy.
Before we left for Maidenbower, we saw this fox trot across the front lawn and sit down in front of the building. Maureen, Little Man's great-grandmother, said she'd seen the fox the day before, but with three pups. The fox sat here for a good few minutes, with her back to us, and gazing into the distance. Maybe her pups were on the other side of the lawn, where we couldn't see. She knew we were there, because the windows were open and she glanced our way at least one. I had to taken a photo to share with you.
We then went back to Debbie's place and relaxed. Little Man played with his new toys (I had to buy a new cabin case the other day to ensure everything could come home with us). After dinner, and saying goodbye to James, Debbie dropped us back at our hosts in Horsham.
I'm currently sitting on my bed, waiting for Little Man to fall asleep. The packing is done, with the exception of our pyjamas, which will go into the case tomorrow morning, as we're travelling back home.²
¹My ex-husband's father lived in Hong Kong for years and years and moved to England about a year and a half ago, with his Chinese wife, Ivy.
