Muckle Flugga
We took two ferries to get onto the most northerly island in Shetland. From the most northerly parking spot we walked a couple of km to find the most northerly geocache in the UK. We were rewarded with clear views of the lighthouse on Muckle Flugga.
Second stop was Scaw Beach, the most northerly beach, where of course we had a swim.
Blip is the view of Muckle Flugga - “large steep-sided island” in old Norse, with its lighthouse.
Extra is a collage of the happy family group at the spot the Blip was taken, together with the view of Scaw beach from our picnic bench.
PS water temperature was 14°C. R and I each swam about 300m, Mr P did 10 strokes.
PPS, if you are looking at map view and wondering why we did not walk further up the headland , the answer is - dive bombing skuas.
