Paddling
Paddling in the ocean - looking west, standing in the Atlantic. Bliss. Awesome to think there is nothing between here and America. Just thousands of miles of sea.
Went to Braunton Burrows and walked 2.5 miles to the beach at Saunton Sands through the dunes. Really lovely walk in the sunshine.
It’s also a military training ground - saw lots of soldiers on an exercise.
Picnic on the beach (although somewhere between scanning & paying for three meal deals, and sitting down to eat here on the beach, I seemed to have lost a sandwich!)
Then a lovely paddle in the warm waves.
Saunton Sands is a stunning beach - miles and miles of unspoilt golden sand. Took a pic later from a lay-by (extra). It took 5 minutes to walk from the dunes to the waters edge, it’s such a huge area.
Some attractive driftwood on the beach one of which looks like a skeleton of a sea creature. Nessie maybe? Far from home in Loch Ness though.
Then to Mortehoe where we sat in a pub and played Quirkle.
SkyJo again in the evening.
