The Way I See Things

R and I went to Hidcote this morning, where I hoped to do better than yesterday in respect of Odonata. The entire place though, as far as we could see, was a dragon-free zone. "Nodonata," said R sadly, apparently forgetting that this would automatically trigger a royalty demand. In the end though - sweetly reasonable as ever - I settled for a large piece of cake, and a written acknowledgement to the source.

In a day of few, and generally poor, photo opportunities, this was the first and best. The area of garden containing a facing pair of "hot" borders with lawn between them has been closed to the public for several years now (at least whenever I visit), and the rabbit was calmly lying in the precise centre of the grass, completely ignoring the chattering of the visitors who were watching it from behind the rope at either end of this garden "room". If that manicured lawn is entirely the rabbit's own work, it's no wonder it needed a bit of a lie-down.
