Life's Little Moments

Oopsie!

This is the nymph form of a two-lined plant hopper who will grow into a bright green adult designed to blend in perfectly with the leaves it feeds on.  I love seeing the nymph forms of these because they really look as if they've just had a little embarrassing accident.  I have never read anything that explains the little fluff-tail so if anyone knows or has a theory, please drop a comment.  Maybe it really is all about the cuteness factor...  For a size reference, have a look at the Extra which shows this little guy with my thumb and finger in the frame - he's super tiny.

I had a session with my therapist today which was good timing.  I kind of needed to talk through some of the things I was feeling about the failed trip to Brazil and she helped me to get some clarity on that.  Also worked on some general techniques to try to manage the anxiety that I experience sometimes.

After I got home, I spent some time pottering around the garden.  I find it very therapeutic to be outside with the sights and sounds of nature, and preferably with a camera in hand.  I know many of my fellow photographers will relate to the ability of photography to shut out the noise and distraction of the world.  After so many years away from it, I am so very grateful to have rediscovered it all those years ago.  It's certainly helped me navigate through some difficult times.

Jax is at daycare having some social time mixed in with naps.  It's hot today so they won't keep any of the dogs outside for very long at a stretch.  He will be good for a long nap on the sofa tonight, for sure.
