A Birmingham Street
I visited Birmingham on the train today, partly to see the memorials to Ozzy Osborne that have sprung up over the the last couple of days. This wall art is just outside New Street Station and you can see on the right where he signed the wall on 28th June this year, just before his final concert at Villa Park.
I can't say I was ever a big fan of the band's music, though listening to all of the eulogies on the radio and television since his death, I can begin to appreciate how influential they were in relation to the genesis of heavy metal music.
It was also graduation day for Birmingham City University and they were using the Symphony Hall for the ceremony. The graduates were in their finest clothes and it was quite striking how casually the rest of us dress when visiting the city in comparison.
