Fair game

I worked from London, although it was one of those warm English summer days that really do not encourage a diligent approach. To get outside I took a walk to Camden along Regent’s Canal, which was languid in the heat. I also went to get supplies for Gugs who was suffering from a bug and was stuck in the accommodation all day. Again, completely crazy how we find ourselves in the same building.

My time in London has again timed with the birthday of my old uni mate Jackie, who assembled a good gaggle of folks for an evening at Fair Game in Canary Wharf. This is best described as a brightly lit medley of arcade and fairground games for adults in a big room attached to a bar. My competitive spirit was on full display and it was wonderful fun. End result: a respectable 3rd of 19.

Here is Lorna on whack-a-mole. She, Jackie and I met in the corridors of the biology department in freshers’ week in 2001. It’s marvellous to be back in the company of old pals.
