The Miss Piggy is Down...

We're finally in Churchill, MB...home of Polar Bears, Beluga whales, lots of murals and the wreckage of the ill fated 'Miss Piggy'.
The 'Miss Piggy is a Curtis C-46 Commando cargo airplane that experienced engine trouble and crashed just after takeoff from Churchill's airport on Nov.13, 1979. Even though her crew tried valiantly to return to the airport, the Miss Piggy went down on the outskirts of Churchill. Thankfully all three of her crew survived. 
Since the town of Churchill is 'famous' for its colorful murals, to no ones surprise the plane's wreckage now sports some extraordinary artwork. Just another reason I love Churchill, Manitoba!
Tomorrow morning we'll board a Zodiac to visit the Beluga Whales gathered in Hudson Bay. m
