Birthday in Rio

Thanks for all the birthday messages for me on Bb’s blip!

We were awake early, with our bodies being five hours ahead of Rio time.

Coffee and word puzzles in bed, then unpacked. It doesn’t take long, but needs to be done as it’s a case of ‘a place for everything and everything in its place’ in our little studio here. Our trolley bags and back packs then put up in the ceiling cupboard in the entrance. Trolley bags will stay there for six weeks. Back packs may come down if we go away for a couple of days.

It being Wednesday, it was the local food market day up on Praça Edmundo Bittencourt. So lovely to feel cooler air but still very pleasant!

I did some QAE marking in the afternoon and Bb went out and got our old phones set up with local SIM cards. We don’t carry our iPhones out with us here, despite missing their cameras.

Late afternoon, we had a walk along the front and then a relaxed dinner in La Trattoria Italian restaurant. Bb had a few lovely little pressies for me and we had a celebratory caipiroska.

We stopped off at Real Chop on the walk home.  Nice to be here for my birthday!
