Red Underwing

This moth is having a little break on the ceiling of the passage between our house and next door. I noticed it this morning when I went out to a local corner shop to pick up a parcel I had ordered (Nothing exciting - just a stock-up of regular things - cat calming diffuser, hair styling product and yoga mat cleaning spray!)

Bri initially thought it was a yellow underwing but it turns out it is the red variety. I'd love to see it with the wings unfurled to show the red colouring! 

I actually took this with my camera which seems to be fixed now. Phone shots in the passage don't work very well. 

Wigan's match will be on TV tonight - we are at home to Catalans. I feel sorry for them as the new bosses of Superleague are trying to freeze them out as they don't feel they add anything to the competition. I would disagree. Apparently the idea of including a French team in the competition initially was about trying to strengthen the French national team to provide more competition for England, since Australia were often reluctant to face us in internationals. That hasn't happened but I don't think expecting just one team to grow a national side was realistic in the first place, really. But Catalans have won trophies and been part of Superleague history in many ways - they have definitely contributed!
