HARD TO SWALLOW

It was an easy blip today when I spotted this starling wrestling with a Privet Hawkmoth caterpillar it had just caught, next to where I parked the car. It struggled for a while but by the time I stopped photographing and left it, the caterpillar was on the pavement near a hedge - apparently still intact - and the starling was staring forlornly at it, so it may have survived.
