Peacock…
… I was outside cleaning the washing line for my next load (gotta use a hot day in the Peak District) when I spotted this flash of colour begging to be blipped. (I don’t think I have butterflied much this year).
Forgive me a grumble here, but blinking AI Whatever It Is Spellchecker (which I don’t even want) is ruining the fun of writing (for me) and changes my spelling SO much that I have to be really vigilant with every text, which I never used to have to be (because I LIKE writing and I don’t want my words changed, thank you very much please good morning).
For instance my earlier sentence, ‘I haven’t butterflied much…’ was exactly what I intended to say, rather than, ‘I haven’t butterflies much’, which is what ‘spellcheck’ thought was better (three times!).
Writing was much easier without the blooming thing!
Rant over.
We thought we had been to our final festival event this afternoon; an excellent chap, an excellent comedy show but, a poignant subject (for me and my family) ADHD and neurodiversity. On reflection I probably shouldn’t have booked it (?)… But I did!
It was a small venue and (my nightmare happened) I was somewhat singled out… (kindly, I must add) but it really was not good timing for me right now.
Still.. The Universe works in mysterious ways and I was talking to the lovely man after the show… We learned something as well as being entertained.
And we might even book another (final, final) show tomorrow..
Anyhoo… I should have been working this afternoon but (in true neurodivergent fashion it seems) I have procrastinated the afternoon away and shall have to be a whirlwind of activity very early tomorrow.
Himself said, ‘you’ll pull it off, you always do’… (?).
(In the meantime he’s buying something on line which has gone up by tuppence in between ‘basket’ and ‘checkout’. Some of us would let tuppence go and take the hit..!).
Happy Friday one and all!!! :-)
