Wendy's World

Clear at last!

Word of the week has been 'Improving'.  Today the weather was due to improve in the afternoon so we hung out at the Old Coastguard Station in the morning, doing some washing and packing as we head off tomorrow to Deesside and the Scottish Six Days.

After lunch we decided to walk up to the walkers carpark at Loch Druim Suardalain, which is one of the blip spots for photographing Suilven and Canisp, in the hope of that improvement.  We hung out for quite a while but, although there was blue sky appearing back down at Lochinver, the clouds stubbornly continued to roll over both mountains.

Eventually we admitted defeat and walked back down for cuppas at An Cala and, would you believe it, we emerged to blue skies.  We walked down to the breakwater, which is another viewing spot for Suilven and the Quinag, to see them both cloudless!  Sod's Law.

Despite the weather issues this week, we've managed several walks and enjoyed the views when they've appeared.  The Old Customs Station has been the perfect bolthole for the week, small but perfectly formed with eco considerations at the heart of everything.
