IT'S FLOWER FRIDAY

Aquilegia canadensis...........Wild Columbine.  It belongs to the Buttercup Family (Ranunculaceae).  There are over 2000 known species within the Family.
~
Wild columbine is an herbaceous perennial, native to North America. The unusual, spur-shaped, red and yellow flowers hang downward from sparsely branched stems in late spring to early summer.
~
Between races at Road America we photographers have to amuse ourselves; I find that shooting the local, on-track  flowering plants is a worthwhile endeavor and perfect for Flower Fridays.
