Croft Castle

J & I spent a lovely family day with daughter K & grandchildren M & H at Croft Castle. There were lots of games set out for the children in the grounds, M & H played badminton & both took a turn in the stocks.
It’s been a long time since we’ve been round the inside of the castle & it was a lot smaller than I remembered it, but National Trust houses all seem to morph into one after a while. M & H are studying the Croft family tree on the wall in my photo.
We toured the gardens which are less tended than they used to be but a new addition is a vineyard, unfortunately the wine had run out.
When they’d gone home I weeded the patio & dead headed the roses.
Finished watching Toxic Town tonight, it’s based on a true story of what happened in Corby when the steel works were closed & dismantled. Jodie Whittaker played a good part.
