Red and white

I'm not sure what this is, but I assume it's a cultivar of a hollyhock/mallow. It's a roundish bush over a metre across that that the town has planted in a flowerbed between a car park and the road. I wadded into the middle of it to get a good picture. It's also the closest thing you'll get a Tour de France, here in town, as the bush sort of looks like it's wearing red polka dots!

When we went to the hippodrome today, there were no rabbits where we expected to find them at one end of the track. The grounds team have removed a huge area of reeds including a large bank which was a rabbit warren. I don't know how many rabbits perished or were displaced, but there were none out where we expected to see them. The dog was a little disappointed but I suspect the surviving rabbits are even more upset.
