My Rose of Sharon
My Rose of Sharon is just starting to bloom. It will be interesting to see how many flowers I get this year, but the bush has been there for many years, and the roots go deep. It is a good metaphor, I think. If you want to survive hard times you must have deep roots, strong connections to what matters most to you. I've been thinking a lot about that since this horror story began in January. Hold onto what is important to you, return to your roots. This too shall pass. It may pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass.
