Calne (Friday 25th July 2025)

This was taken on my way back from Castlefields Park. I'd walked into Calne to get groceries and fish and chips, but had been unable to find a bench in the shade in Pocket Park or nearby to eat the fish and chips, as everyone had the same idea.

I finally found one in Castlefields Park but ended up having to share the seat when I was joined by a lady new to Calne, having been living in Houston.

Later I also found myself chatting to a visitor from Norfolk who was staying with friends, as we walked towards Chaveywell Bridge, discussing local features and Calne's history. I was home before I realised I hadn't bought any groceries.
