Field grasses
Along with everything else I do, I also dabble in cyanotype, which is creating pictures using chemicals painted onto card, applying objects onto that card, then exposing it to sunlight. Once the chemical wash changes colour, then remove the objects and rinse with cold water. The chemical turns a deep indigo blue leaving a white imprint where the objects lay.
These are stalks and seed heads of various field grasses which I did on a course which used a UV light instead of sunshine. I have since bought my own UV light which means I can create cyanotype pictures and experiment with exposure times and effects all year round.
