Spotted this insect this morning on a Rugosa Rose whilst walking Tess in Port Carlisle this morning.  I believe its a Tiger Crane Fly.  I don't think I've come across one before and spent a while watching it.  There were also lots of Hover Flies on the roses.  We both got invited over to my neighbours this afternoon for a cuppa for me and one or two treats for Tess.  Afterwards as the forecast rain hadn't arrived thought I'd better get some grass cut.
