A birthday on the Moss

Today is F's birthday.  He came to me for lunch (cake was eaten) then chose to go to Whixall Moss for a walk.  

 The ferns had grown really high since we were there last which made good basking spots for the butterflies.  We saw very few birds but did spot a couple of hobbies high up in the sky and a flock of longtailed tits..  I found this beautiful jay feather, we heard them squabbling but couldn't seethwm in the trees.
