Not a good start to the day
This morning, on my walk, it was extremely mizzerly & drizzly. It was the type of rain where one didn't realise one was getting wet until one got home and then one realised that they were soaked through.
It's the start of 'silly season'?! After we'd walked along the beach, we walked around town. OMG?!............... Aren't holidaymakers stupid? At 8am this morning there were 13 cars queuing to get into the 'Island Car Park'. For anyone who doesn't know............... the 'Island Car Park' is quite close to town. Everyone wants to park in the 'Island Car Park'. Most of them don't even want to use their cars for a week. They just want to park their cars as near to their accommodation as possible. #Paranoidorwhat
The holidaymakers seemed totally oblivious to the signs telling them not to queue for the car park. They had totally blocked the very narrow road leading to the car park and obv had no intention of moving so haven't a clue how any of the delivery drivers managed to get around town this morning. It's like holidaymakers just leave all their brains behind when they come on holiday?!
Do they read the signs and just ignore them? Do they not see the signs? Do they think that because they are on holiday, they are exempt from any of the rules?
By the time we got down to the Wharf, the traffic was already starting to back up. Well it would, wouldn't it, if 13 cars were clogging up Island Road & trying to get into a car park.
….........ST IVES is NOT an all inclusive holiday resort. ….....It's a working town. …........And for all those holidaymakers who walk along the middle of the road on the Wharf, see a car/delivery van behind them and then just continue walking in the middle of the road................ How do you think your rubbish gets collected, how do you think supplies are delivered to restaurants, how do you think you have fresh linen on your beds, how do you think your Waitrose order is delivered?
My human has worked in hospitality for more than 25 years and it's never been so bad as it is now. Yes. It's expensive to rent a holiday home down here, but the overheads are absolutely massive. I bet holiday makers don't realise that owners have to pay at least £4.50 per bag of rubbish that is collected from their holiday home and some holidaymakers generate more than 10 bags of rubbish in a 3 day stay???
Oh & also while my human is having a RANT................. Do holidaymakers not know how to use the indicators on their cars???!!! #justsaying
