Today we visited Leith Hall, not far from Huntly, and as well as enjoying walks in the grounds, we had a most interesting tour of the house. Apparently, this grandfather clock needed winding just once a year which sounds incredible. The extra shows items on the desk of the last owner of the house before it was passed to the National Trust for Scotland. There are several beautiful Tiffany items as well as a Christmas card sent to Henrietta (Wetta) from her nephew, Bamber Gascoigne, well known as quizmaster of University Challenge for many years.
